Welcoming our new Team Leader, Darren Staunton

CSCW are pleased to announce that our new Team Leader from September 2019 will be Darren Staunton. You can read all about him below! Please pray for Darren as he prepares to take on this new role and for the trust as we continue to share the love of God by serving Chester Schools.

I'm really excited to be here in the great city of Chester serving the local schools and churches. I am currently the Youth Worker at Lymm Baptist Church, where I lead a team of volunteers in delivering the youth program and leading the youth club. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and young people in a variety of different contexts, from delivering lessons and sessions in schools to lunch clubs, assemblies, residentials, school transitions and mentoring.

I grew up in Manchester and moved to Sale where I attended Sale Grammar School before going to Cardiff University to study Religious and Theological Studies. Since then, I’ve worked for a number of charitable organisations where I’ve gained extensive experience in youth work. I particularly love delivering lessons on Christianity, sharing my faith and supporting the schools in any way I can.

I’ve been married to the beautiful Rachael for three years and we’re expecting our first child in September! I love watching and talking football - although I’m not the best player - and I support Manchester United, which I realise is dangerous living in Chester! I’m at my best when I’m eating a warm Greggs sausage roll; walking outdoors; talking; playing squash; eating out or spending time with loved ones.

I’m really looking forward to leading a successful charity of 25 years into a new chapter and continuing to explore different ways we can serve the local primary and high schools.
